Can we get data out of a machine or PLC?
In many cases, yes. Depending on the equipment, we read the data the machine or its PLC already provides, or add sensors to measure what you need, and feed it into your ERP or a dashboard to follow production. We check it on site before proposing anything.
Signs this is happening to you
- Production data is written down by hand, on paper or in a spreadsheet.
- To know how a shift is going, someone has to walk onto the shop floor and ask.
- The ERP doesn't know what has been produced until someone enters it.
- Stoppages are noticed after the fact, and nobody is quite sure how long they lasted.
How we approach it
Every machine is different: some expose their data through the PLC or a communications port, others provide nothing and have to be measured with sensors. That's why we start by looking at the equipment in your plant.
Then we connect that data to your systems: the ERP, a production app or a dashboard where your team can see what's happening. We combine software, IoT and, where it adds value, artificial intelligence.
What to keep in mind
Reading data is not the same as controlling the machine. Actions that affect production follow defined rules and, when needed, a person's approval.
Your plant's data can stay on your premises or on European servers. You decide where it is processed and who can access it.
Where to start
The natural starting point is an on-site assessment: we visit the plant, see what each machine can provide and give you a report with what's possible, the priorities and a roadmap.
